Mumbai: Four Mumbai players who contributed significantly to India's triumph in the T20 World Cup will be honored at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan complex this Friday. Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal played pivotal roles in securing India's second T20 World Cup title on June 29, marking a historic victory after an 11-year ICC trophy drought since the 2013 Champions Trophy win under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Celebrating Mumbai's Sporting Heroes

State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar announced the felicitation ceremony, acknowledging the stellar performances of these Mumbai cricketers in the national squad. The event, scheduled for Friday afternoon, follows a grand reception for the victorious team upon their return to New Delhi from Barbados.

Today, in Mumbai, the traffic police have closed seven roads in South Mumbai and imposed parking restrictions on 10 others. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, hundreds of Team India supporters gathered at the airport, holding placards and waving the national flag to welcome the victorious cricket team. Following a reception hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital, the team will proceed to Mumbai for an open-top bus parade with the trophy. Two buses await outside T3 Terminal to transport players to their hotel, before heading to the Prime Minister’s residence around 9 am for a scheduled reception.
