Mumbai's Deonar Dumping Yard:Fire still raging after 3rd day

Mumbai: On Saturday, A fire which broke out at Mumbai’s Deonar dumping ground, is still raging today Monday. Twelve fire engines have been posted at the spot as fire officials try to douse the blaze.

On Sunday, the fire raised and spread two-three kms. As the smoke plunged the area, the nearby residents complained of discomfort and breathing problem.
On January 27,fire has broken out at the city’s biggest dumping yard,which spread 326 acres and it took 7 days to under control the fire.

For this cause the Government schools in centrsl Mumbai’s Shivaji Nagra and Deonar were closed for teo days.

Devendra Fadnavis(Mumbai’s CM) had on February 2 promised to take steps to tackle the problem of recurring fire at the dumping ground. He had said, “ two fire engines would be stationed at Deonar, but residents of the area say on March 19, when the fire broke out, they had to call fire officials to alert them”

Mushtak Khan said "We only get assurances from the government but see no action,"
