Mumbai: Three traders in Maharashtra have accused former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh of corruption and extortion. According to reports, the trio has lodged a complaint against him. The complaint says on behalf of the three traders, "Param Bir Singh has collected crores of rupees from us.'' Reacting to the same issue, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, "He is accused of new allegations every day.'' As part of the information received, businessmen Sonu Jalan, Ketan Mansukhlal Tanna, and Munir Ahmed Pathan have written a letter to the Director-General of Police, Maharashtra.

In the letter, the traders wrote that "Param Bir Singh had taken crores of rupees from them while holding the post of police commissioner in Thane. Reacting to all these allegations, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, "Every day new allegations of corruption are coming up against Param Bir Singh. Police officers Anup Dange and Bhimrao Ghadge have also leveled corruption charges against Parambir. Sonu Jalan, Ketan Tanna, and other businessmen have also come forward and leveled extortion charges against him."

In addition, Anil Deshmukh in his statement also said, "You all know that explosives were kept near Antilia when Param Bir Singh was the Police Commissioner. Sachin Vaze as well as Param Bir Singh's role in the explosive laying and carrying out the Mansukh massacre have been found suspicious. Their mistakes could not be forgiven and that is why they were transferred.'' He also said, "Now he is making allegations against me in anger, whereas if Param Bir Singh had to make allegations against me, he would have done it when he was the Commissioner of Mumbai Police."
