A Mumbai-based small-time TV artist has been booked by the CBI. He was alleged of running an international racket of selling sexually explicit content of minors from abroad. The content was obtained by enticing and blackmailing them on Instagram, officials said Sunday. The man approached over 1,000 users including minors between 10-16 years of age across the United States, Europe, and South Asian countries using the photo-sharing application Instagram, the officials said.

CBI has booked him under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act. The CBI has a special separate branch against child abuse. Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention/ Investigation (OCSAE) is set up to prevent online abuse of children.
