Mumbai: A 79-year-old man, resident of Mulund police area in Mumbai, has lost Rs 1.5 crore in an online dating affair with a European woman. Mulund Police will soon file a complaint in the case. Police has said that the victim is a retired engineer. He sold his wife's jewelery worth 1.5 crores to a European woman.

He was going to sell his flat in Mulund, but in time his son living in America stopped him. Police have said that the complainant fell in love with a 'Spanish woman' in May this year, who called herself Vivian Lowe. The woman told him that she was sending a jewelery parcel for him. When the man refused to take her, the woman asked him to donate to the orphanage.

Police said that after a few days, a woman named Radhika Sharma called her as a custom officer and asked her to pay custom duty on the parcel. The man gave that too. A week later, the woman called again and told that she has been stopped by the customs at Delhi Airport and needs Rs 30 lakh. The person gave 30 lakh rupees more. Police said that the victim had collected money by selling his wife's jewelry. He was also about to sell his flat, but his son living in America stopped doing so.
