Mumbai: Mumbai Police has been on alert since the rape and murder incident in Sakinaka. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagarale has now issued fresh orders to strengthen the safety of women in the city. As per the information received, Police Commissioner Hemant Nagarale has now issued an order to the department to implement 11 level security arrangements for the same. It is said to give priority to the safety of women and children and special emphasis will be laid on the police patrolling system, surveillance, and vigilance. At the same time, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will write to the ward officer for the installation of QR codes and CCTV cameras at places roaming in Mumbai, shrines, and deserted places. The same police station charges have been entrusted with the responsibility of talking to the BMC and providing electricity to the toilets. In addition, instructions have been issued to the Mumbai police traffic department to seize unclaimed vehicles lying on the roadside.


11 steps to be taken under 'Operation Kavach':

* Immediate action should be taken on receipt of women-related calls in the control room.

* Local police and special police teams will be continuously patrolling the deserted and dark places.

* Electricity and CCTV will be provided at deserted places with the help of BMC.

* QR code system will have to be installed in isolated places.

* Public women toilets will have electricity and electricity on the premises.

* During patrolling, the suspects will be questioned immediately and their Identity Cards will be checked.

* Security arrangements for women will be tightened during night patrolling. They will provide immediate help to needy women.

*There will be a crackdown against addicts.

* The drivers of unclaimed vehicles lying on the roads, deserted streets will be searched and seized.

* There will also be work of making a list and keeping track of the accused in the case related to women.

Apart from this, mobile police vans will be deployed outside the railway stations of Mumbai from 10 pm to 7 am. During this, seeing the woman alone, the policeman posted on duty will interrogate the woman. If she is in need, she will be helped immediately.
