Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued an order making it mandatory to wear masks. If you travel in your private car too, then you will have to apply mask. Even it has been made mandatory to put masks on all public transport and public places. There is also a provision for penalty for breaking the rules. Fines of up to thousand rupees can be imposed on those who do not wear masks.

The Maharashtra government announced on Monday that the lockdown period in the state has been extended till July 31. Although many activities have been relaxed, but with some restrictions. The situation of coronavirus in Mumbai is very critical. There is a steady increase in the number of patients here. The number of dead is also increasing rapidly. In view of this, BMC has made it mandatory for people to apply masks. Since people have started to move out, the rate of infection has not spread wildly, in view of this, the mask has been made mandatory.

Shops, markets, parks and other public places have started opening with unlock in the state. There is a possibility of seeing a further rise in the infection as people rush. Several studies have shown that wearing masks reduces the risk of infection to a great extent. It has been observed that people who did not use masks had more infections than people wearing masks.
