President Kovind expresses grief over 11 people died in building collapses in Mumbai

Mumbai: A four-storey building collapsed in Malwani area of Malad West due to heavy rains in Mumbai last Wednesday night. Eleven people were killed and 18 others injured when the building collapsed. The incident is said to have taken place around 11 pm. Expressing condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted.

 

 

In a tweet, he said, "The death of people due to the collapse of a building in Mumbai is really tragic. My thoughts are with the families of those who died. I pray for the recovery of the rescued people". You must all know that the rescue team that reached the spot after the accident pulled 18 people out of the debris. The injured have now been admitted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment here. At the same time, two more dilapidated buildings nearby have been demolished as a precautionary measure in view of the accident.

Let us also tell you that one of the reasons for the collapse of the building is also said to be the rain in Mumbai. The monsoon hit G Darsal Mumbai yesterday and the entire city has become waterlogged as the monsoon approaches. Heavy rain alert is now on again in Mumbai today.
