Mumbai: After being convicted in a defamation case and Rahul Gandhi's departure from the Lok Sabha as per the Supreme Court's 2013 order, the entire Congress is furious. The BJP government at the centre is under sharp attack by party leaders. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi seems to be in another trouble. In fact, the Mumbai Press Club has asked Rahul Gandhi to apologise for insulting the journalist.

The Mumbai Press Club has expressed displeasure over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's abusive behaviour with a journalist when asked questions in the matter of going to Parliament. The Mumbai Press Club has said that Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the journalist for his behaviour. In fact, after losing the MP, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in the party office on Saturday (March 25). During this, a journalist questioned him, due to which Rahul Gandhi got angry and described the journalist as a DIRECT BJP worker. "Why are you working for the BJP? If you want to work for the BJP, hang their badge on  your chest. Don't try to show yourself a journalist. " Further, when the journalist fell silent, Rahul Gandhi insulted him and said- 'What happened, the wind went out?'

According to media reports, the victim journalist had been covering the Congress beat for the last 15 years, and he has also appeared with Rahul Gandhi many times. But Rahul could not recognise the journalist covering his party and insulted him in a full press conference.

Condemning Rahul Gandhi's behaviour, the Press Club said it is the job of journalists to ask questions, and it is the responsibility of politicians to answer them with dignity and courtesy. It is unfortunate that despite being the leader of the oldest political party in the country, Rahul Gandhi failed to respect the dignity of the fourth pillar of democracy. It is worrying that political parties are hell-bent on humiliating and threatening journalists with sharp questions. We request all those associated with politics to respect the freedom of the press. We must remember that freedom of expression is the cornerstone of our democracy. Therefore, it would be appropriate that Rahul Gandhi accept his mistake and apologise to the concerned journalist.
