3 killed and 6 injured in a collision between vehicles on Pune-Mumbai Expressway

Mumbai: A major accident has taken place on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway recently. According to information received, the accident took place at Bor Ghat near Khopoli here and three people have died in it. Six persons were also reported injured. The incident took place today i.e. The tempo carrying chickens on the lane from Pune to Mumbai reportedly hit the moving tempo. Meanwhile, not one or two but six trains collided with each other and included two tempos, two cars, private buses and trailers. In the meantime, the Swift car was shattered between the tempo and the trailer carrying chickens.

The accident is said to have caused traffic jams. The injured have been taken to a hospital. Two persons were reportedly trapped in the Swift car in the accident and both died during the rescue operation. The bodies of the duo were then unloaded from the car and sent to Khopoli Municipal Hospital for further processing. One rider was also killed in the tempo. Traffic was reportedly stopped for some time in the Mumbai bound lane due to the accident. The rescue operation was carried out with the help of Delta Force, IRB, Angel, Highway Police, Khopoli Police and locals.

This is not the first incident but a similar major accident took place at Pimpri-Chinchwad near Pune. The bike suddenly collided with a divider near Akurdi on the old Mumbai-Pune highway from Pune to Mumbai. This led to the death of Aryan Parmar and Shweta Gajbe on the bike.
