Mumbai and its surrounding areas have experienced trouble of torrential rains. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued the red alert for the next 2-3 days, revealing heavy rains.
Navy and NDRF on alert:
Navy helicopters have been kept ready for precautionary relief and rescue operations and NDRF has also been placed on high alert. At the same time, a Navy spokesman said that flood rescue teams and divers were also ready for deployment.
3 killed in house collapse:
Earlier on Tuesday, 298 mm of rain was recorded in Mumbai, due to which the calamity of the year 2005 was revived. Three people, including two children, died on Tuesday due to the collapse of two houses in the suburbs of Vikroli, due to this torrential rains.
Tide raising trouble:
This torrential rains also blocked the rail, road and air services in the city. Trees fell in many places and people were trapped for several hours. In fact, with the tide (high tide), the rain has increased the people's problem, which can not be done through natural means in the sea of water.
Schools and colleges will be closed:
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (BMC) has also been directed to close all the schools and colleges on Wednesday. In the Maharashtra government, Minister Vinod Tawde tweeted that in view of the possibility of heavy rains, instructions have been issued to close all the schools and colleges.
