Mumbai Shocker: Woman killed and chopped into pieces, live-in-partner arrested

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra police detained a Mumbai-based man, accused of killing and chopping his live-in partner into pieces on Wednesday. Manoj Sahani, who has lived with the woman in a rented flat for more than three years, was named as the suspect.

As per reports, the police seized the 56-year-old man on Wednesday night in connection with the murder and dismemberment of his live-in girlfriend.

The deceased lady has been identified as Saraswati Vaidya, an orphan. The two have been living together for years in a rental flat in the Akashganga building in the Mira Road area.
The Nayanagar police received a report of a bad stench coming from the couple's flat on Wednesday. When the police arrived later, they found a human body in fragments inside the flat.  The body was dismembered, and bits were scattered about the apartment.

In the vicinity of Mira Road, police found a woman's body that had been dismembered. Here, a live-in relationship was being maintained by a couple. As per initial inquiry, the woman was murdered by a hacksaw. Additional investigations are being conducted, said  Mumbai's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Jayant Bajbale.

The hoorible killing was committed on June 4, and the accused used two cutters to cut the body of the deceased into small pieces. One of the cutters was an electric one, reports said. It is aolso known that some pieces of the body are missing, and the police suspect the murderer of dumping the body pieces in different areas.

A few months ago, a similar case went viral when a 27-year old Indian woman, Shraddha Walkar, was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala in Delhi on 18 May,2022.
