He is 45 years old and lives with his family in Mumbai's Slum. His picture has created a sensation on social media. Ashok used to haul vegetable in Bhendi Bazaar due to heavy rains and waterlogging in Mumbai had to close his shop on Thursday.

He is about to feed his family by selling vegetables but that day he could not dare to return home empty-handed. During that time, Ashok started crying on the road divider and someone clicked his picture. This picture has been going viral since then. It is being told that after the photo went viral, a lot of calls for help started on Ashok's phone. Now according to the information, Mumbaikars have given money to help Ashok. Ashok has received Rs 2 lakh as help.

In a conversation with media, Ashok thanked the people of Mumbai and said, "Thanks to people who have helped me in this way. Because there are thousands of people like me in Mumbai. I hope that other needy also get similar help". Ashok said that "He will bring back the mangalsutra of his wife Sangeeta, which was sold for 30,000 due to lack of money. He will repay 10,000 rupees borrowed from his brother and buy blood pressure medicines for his wife. The money that will be saved will be deposited in the bank for the daughter's wedding."
