Mumbai: Shocking incidents are reported everyday from Mumbai. Now, the recent incident is from Andheri area. Fed up with his neighbour's taunts here, a former journalist has committed suicide with his 7-year-old son. The former journalist is said to be Reshma and jumped to her death from the 12th floor of the building. Reshma's husband also died a month ago due to corona infection as per information received in the case. She was already broken, and neighbours, on the other hand used to taunt her.
Police have arrested Reshma's neighbour Ayub Khan in connection with the double suicide case. Reshma reportedly left a suicide note and accused neighbour Ayub Khan and his family of mentally harassing her. Reshma had said in her suicide note, "Neighbours don't let her 7-year-old to play games outside. They often quarrels with her over this". On May 30, Reshma also spoke in a Facebook post about the neighbour harassing the child. Reshma, who was upset with her neighbour, is said to have committed suicide by jumping from the 12th floor along with her child last Monday.
However, her last rites have not been performed so far as no member of his family is present in Mumbai. As a result, police are now waiting for his brother to return from the US. According to a police official, Ayub's family had also complained to the society against Reshma's child playing. Ayub, an accused in the case, said that one of his family members has a major illness. Because of which he could not sleep in the noise, he complained about the child to the society.
