Lucknow: Controversial poet Munawwar Rana has made highly derogatory remarks on Lord Valmiki, which could lead to his arrest. Tell you that actress Rakhi Sawant had once made the same comment after which she was arrested. According to media reports, Rakhi Sawant was arrested by Punjab police in Mumbai in April 2017. She had hurt the sentiments of Valmiki samaj by commenting on the creator of 'Ramayana.' The complaint said that it had hurt the sentiments of a large number of people. In fact, Rakhi Sawant described Maharshi Valmiki as a 'killer' and said that she still wrote the Ramayana.

Rakhi was giving examples at that time as to how people's behavior and circumstances change. Singer Mika Singh forcibly kissed Rakhi Sawant at a birthday party in 2014. She then compared Mika Singh to Maharshi Valmiki. She had claimed that like Maharshi Valmiki, Mika has also changed and become innocent. However, Rakhi Sawant had later clarified that she had read the story since childhood on how Valmiki became a saint from dacoit. Later, she spoke of the respect of the Maharshi Valmiki and the Valmiki community. The case was heard in a Ludhiana court. In which Rakhi said that she does not know why she was being targeted. However, the Punjab Police had then denied the arrest of Rakhi Sawant and said that she had surrendered herself.

On the other hand, now poet Munawwar Rana has made a similar statement that could lead to his arrest. Munawwar Rana said on TV, 'When Valmiki writes Ramayana, he becomes a deity before he becomes a dacoit.' Munawwar compared Maharshi Valmiki to the Taliban and said, "The character of a person keeps on changing. We have to remove the history of Valmiki. We like Afghans. You call Valmiki God, but in your religion, anyone is called God. He was a writer. His work was to write Ramayana, which he did.''
