Mundka fire: BJP's blames Kejriwal as death toll rises to 27

NEW DELHI: The BJP took target at the Delhi government, alleging that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's mismanagement was to blame for the tragedy and deaths in the Mundka fire.The BJP further stated that if the fire tenders had arrived on time, the tragic fire that cost 27 lives could have been avoided or contained. 

Amit Malviya, the BJP's national information and technology director, tweeted, "If the fire tenders had come on time, the terrible fire in Mundka that lost 27 lives could have been avoided or mitigated. The 1.5-hour delay is totally baffling. The mishap and deaths were caused by Arvind Kejriwal's mismanagement. He needs to be held accountable." In a recent development in the Mundka fire incident case, Delhi Police on Sunday arrested Manish Lakra, the owner of the ill-fated building that was gutted in the fire two days ago.

Lakra, a Mundka village resident, lived on the building's top level and fled after the disaster, which claimed the lives of 27 people. But it's unclear whether he was in the building at the time of the incident.

Ground plus three stories comprised the structure. A single company occupied the ground, first, and second floors, and its proprietors, Harish and Varun Goel, were also arrested. The majority of the persons were on the second floor of the building at the time of the tragedy.
