Raipur: Good news has come from Chhattisgarh for the Congress party. The ruling Congress party has won the body elections here. The Congress has gained 174 wards out of 300 wards declared so far. BJP has won 89 wards and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh has won 6 wards. Polling is underway for 70 wards.

On the results of the body elections, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that from Bastar, Sarguja, Sarangadh to Bhilai and Bhirgaon, we have got good results. He also congratulated all his winning candidates and party workers. Reacting to the results announced so far, CM Bhupesh Baghel said the body election results indicate the success of welfare schemes launched by his government.

At the same time, the officer said that the results of the remaining 70 wards in Bhilai municipal corporation, the head of Durg district, are yet to be officially declared and voting is going on. However, if trends are to be believed in 70 wards, Congress has also taken the lead over the BJP in the remaining seats. Out of these 70 wards, Congress is leading in 37, BJP 24, other 8. The counting of votes for bye-elections in 15 municipal bodies and 15 wards began at 9 am on Monday at 29 polling stations. The ruling Congress has registered a landslide victory in the elections held in 15 urban bodies of Chhattisgarh.
