Lucknow: Munawwar Rana, a well-known poet who is often in controversies about his statements, has once again made objectionable statements. Taking a dig at Uttar Pradesh CM and BJP leader Yogi Adityanath, he said that there is no need for a Hindu CM in a democratic country. The image of CM Yogi is that of a fiery Hindutva leader.

On Monday, poet Munawar Rana said, "If you hand over a state to a staunch Hindu chief minister, you are bent on destroying it." He alleged that he (Yogi) hated a particular community. Munawwar Rana also questioned the landmark verdict given by the country's highest court on the Ayodhya Ram temple.

Munawar Rana has targeted former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi. He said that the decisions related to faith cannot be made in the court as these are the decisions of the hearts, but the apex court decided on the Ram temple and those who took the decision were now made Rajya Sabha MPs. The historic decision of the Ayodhya dispute was given by a bench headed by Ranjan Gogoi.
