Murder accused of Indian student in America surrenders in Police station

Washington: A US citizen accused of killing Abhishek Sudesh Bhat, an Indian student in the city of San Bernardino, surrendered to the police, after which he has been arrested. The San Bernardino Police Department said that 42-year-old Eric Turner has surrendered. He has been arrested for the 25-year-old murder of Sudesh outside a motel where Sudesh used to work part-time.

Abhishek, a resident of Mysuru, Karnataka, was studying MS in computer science at California State University in San Bernardino. Turner shot Abhishek outside the motel on Thursday afternoon. The police declared him dead on the spot. The San Bernardino Police Department said that the case is being investigated. It is not yet known why Turner murdered Sudesh.

Sergeant Albert Tello of San Bernardino said in a statement that, 'the suspect had been identified and now he surrendered to the authorities. The purpose of firing is being ascertained. Turner will be presented in the local court today.' Meanwhile, Sudesh's family and friends have created a page named 'Go-Fund' for financial assistance, through which one thousand people have given more than 39 thousand US dollars till Sunday.
