Kolkata: Criminals kidnap and killed a 10-year-old child of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in Malda district of West Bengal. Malda police said that the miscreants kidnapped the child 3 days ago and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh from the TMC leader. On Wednesday, the body of the child was recovered from a farm 2 km from his house.
According to the police, the kidnapped child is named Omar Farooq and he is a fourth class student. Tension arose in Amlitala village of Motbari police station in the district after the child's body was found. The police have arrested 18-year-old Rashidul Sheikh and 19-year-old Ramzan Sheikh in this case. Both the arrested persons are cousins of the deceased child. Police claim that this incident is related to the old family dispute. Panchayat member of Farooq area was the son of Ayesha Bibi. On Sunday night, the child was abducted by miscreants in front of his house. During the incident, 10-year-old Farooq was talking to his friends.
Shortly thereafter, a call came to the child's father Hafeezul Islam and a ransom of 50 lakh was asked from him. The police claim that immediately after receiving the complaint in this case, she got into action and started trying to recover the child. Meanwhile, the cybercrime unit was trying to reach the accused through mobile phone calls.
