Rampur: A sensational case of strangulation of an elderly man who was praying in a mosque in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh has come to light. Hafiz, who came to save the elderly, was also attacked by the accused. In this attack, the elderly died on the spot, while Hafiz was injured. The police arrested the accused and got involved in the investigation of the case.

62-year-old Sagir Ahmad was offering Namaz in the mosque located in Nagliya Aakil village of Azimnagar area of Rampur district. During this time, an accused named Jalis stabbed him on his neck with a knife. When Hafiz, who was present there, arrived to save Sagir, Jalis also attacked him. Due to which Hafiz Sham Shuddin got injured. After this, the accused was trying to escape from the mosque, when the villagers nabbed him. According to the information, a dispute was going on between Sagir Ahmad and Jalis about reciting Namaz in the mosque of the village. On Thursday morning at around seven and a half, Sagir was praying in the mosque, when Jalis reached there and dropped Sagir on the floor. After this, he stabbed his neck. After which a few minutes later the old man died.

Jalis, who fled after committing the crime, was caught by the villagers, after which the accused were handed over to the police. On receipt of this incident, the police force reached the spot. The accused has been arrested and started taking further action.
