The recovery of a teenage man's body at Dwarkuchi under the Gandhibari outpost in the Tamulpur region of Assam's Baksa district has provoked controversy. The body of the young man was found hanging on a rope on the verandah of an under-construction concrete home owned by Armyman Biren Chandra Boro, who had two children.
Jiyabur Rahman, a 22-year-old man, has been identified as the body. He was from the Morigaon district's Kharupathar village. When the dead's family members were reached over the phone, it was discovered that the deceased had been working as a labourer on the Rangiya side, according to the locals.
Tamulpur is around 25 kilometres away from Rangiya. The lips of the young man was wrapped in a black cloth when the body was discovered, raising suspicions about the incident. Locals believe it was a case of murder because the house owner's wife denied knowing the young man. Locals believed that miscreants may have put a black cloth around his lips before killing him and hanging his body on the porch of a Dwarkuchi home under construction.
The corpse of the deceased has been taken into custody by Tamulpur Police. The case is now being investigated by the police. Locals claim that the truth will be revealed and the mystery would be solved only after a thorough enquiry.
