Lucknow: On Friday, after Congress chief Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Kerala’s Wayanad, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called Muslim League a “virus” and said that whoever gets infected with this virus cannot survive. Yogi further alleged that the main opposition party Congress has already been infected with it. The Indian Union Muslim League is the traditional ally of the Congress-led UDF in Kerala. It had welcomed Gandhi waving green flags when he visited Wayanad yesterday along with Priyanka Gandhi.

Here it is to be noted that taking to his Twitter handle, the UP CM said: “In the freedom struggle of 1857, the whole country had fought against the British along with Mangal Pandey, but then this Muslim League virus came and spread due to which the whole country was divided.” He further claimed that the Congress is infected with Muslim League virus and urged people to be careful. The firebrand CM who is known for his controversial statements sparked another row after he referred to the Indian Army has "Modi ki sena." After his statement, the EC issued a notice to the UP CM.

However, it is worth mention here that slamming the grand old party Yogi said while the Congress-led UPA fed biryani to terrorists Modi’s army gives bullets and bombs to them. Yogi’s remark was criticised and MoS VK Singh said that anyone who calls the Army as “Modi ji ki sena” is a traitor. The CM had earlier targeted the Congress manifesto accusing it of playing into the hands of anti-national and separatists by talking about ending anti-sedition law and diluting AFSPA. Attacking Congress president Rahul Gandhi after he filed his nomination papers, Adityanath said the Congress is becoming a threat to the nation and added that in Wayanad the Muslim League is the alliance partner of the Congress. While the BJP is attacking Gandhi for betraying the people of Amethi Gandhi said that he wants to send a signal to the BJP and RSS and added that South India is one.
