Lucknow: Amob pelted stones at the Haryana Police in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Wednesday (May 18, 2022) to give a tip-off. Five policemen were badly injured in the attack. There was also a female staff. The mob also resorted to stone pelting and aerial firing on the police. The attackers had released Noman, accused of cheating, from police custody. Now 18 attackers have been arrested in this case. Nine women are also among the accused. Police have named a total of 34 people.

Giving details about the action, DSP Chhata said that on the day of the incident, the Thana Shergarh police along with the Haryana police had gone to raid the house of a miscreant. During this time, some Muslim women and men attacked the police in the village of Jangawali. There was stone pelting in the attack and aerial firing from the rooftops. After getting the information, a force of nearby police stations was called and raided the village. So far, 18 accused have been arrested. This includes both men and women. Legal action is being taken against all the accused by registering a case under serious sections.

According to a newspaper report tweeted by mathura police, the police had raided village Janghwali in Nagla Islam Nagar area to nab the accused on charges of cheating on OLX. The fraud was worth Rs 36,000, a complaint of which was lodged at sector-31 police station in Faridabad. Noman was taken into custody during the raid. Noman had a stolen mobile phone. During this time, a Muslim mob attacked the police to rescue Noman.  

According to information, nine Muslim women including Shaukeen, Rashid, Arish, Tarif, Rizwan, Robin, Mushtaq and Asif have been arrested in this attack. At the same time, the police are now looking for Noman, Shakir, Rahul, Mufeed, Mukeem, Anees, Zubaid, Bhalla, Talim, Farooq, Junaid, Mowi, Sheeda, Samman, Abad, Iqbal, Rafiqa, Arshida, Rapashina, Arfina, Barfeena, Amina, Mosmina, Rehana, Manyfa.
