Varanasi: The All India Muslim Personal Board (AIMPLB) has decided to challenge the decision to conduct a survey at Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi in the High Court. AIMPLB member Zafaryab Jilani has termed the civil court's decision in the case as illegal. According to Jilani, the judge has given the verdict in a hurry. Since prayers have been offered before August 15, 1947, at Gyanvapi masjid, the case cannot be established.

In Uttar Pradesh, a civil court on Thursday ruled on the Gyanvapi Masjid located in the Kashi Vishwanath complex in the Varanasi district. The court in its judgment said that the matter should be investigated by the Archaeological Survey department and the entire expenditure incurred by the state government will be borne. During the hearing, the court ordered an archeology survey of the entire compound of the mosque. The case is in the news after the court's order.

The Hindu side has been claiming that Swayambhu Jyotirlinga of Adi Visheshwar exists under the floor of the disputed structure. According to the claim, the height of this Jyotirlinga is 100 feet. Before the AIMPLB, Asaduddin Owaisi had also expressed displeasure over the court's decision.
