New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center recently passed a resolution to raise the minimum age of marriage for girls to 21 years. However, there is no law regarding this yet. But due to its sound, there has been panic in the Muslim community. They want to get their daughters married as soon as possible. According to the report, due to this, the crowd in the mosques of the old city of Hyderabad has increased.

Most of the brides involved in these hasty marriages are between 18 and 20 years of age. Earlier, most of these marriages were to take place in 2022-2023. But now their families do not want to wait for fear of coming of a new law related to the minimum age of marriage. According to media reports, despite the marriage due to weak financial conditions, the families have postponed the ceremony of 'Adieu' for the time being. Samrunnisa, the mother of a 19-year-old girl, while talking to the media has told that she has three daughters, one of whom is disabled. So how can she wait for two years for the marriage of one of her daughters? A woman from Babanagar told that her husband works in Sri Lanka and he wanted to marry their daughter in the middle of 2022 after his return, but after hearing about the bill, she had to do this in a hurry.

Similarly, Rahmat Ali married his daughter on 26th December and postponed her farewell by 4-5 months as he does not have money to give furniture, ornaments or clothes etc. to the daughter. On the other hand, a couple from Chandrayangutta is dependent on the 'Shaadi Mubarak' scheme of the KCR government for the marriage of their daughter. This scheme was started by the TRS government in 2014. This scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to SC, ST, OBC or minorities. Girls should be at least 18 years of age to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Firoz Khan, a local leader of the same area informed that to take advantage of this scheme, families are getting married so that they can apply for it as soon as possible. At the same time, Maulana Zafar Pasha, a Muslim cleric and Amir (chief) of Amarat-e-Millat-e-Islamia Telangana and Andhra, has said that it is nothing but 'infiltration' in Muslim personal law. He said that in Islam a Muslim girl can marry after attaining puberty.
