Muslims throw stones at Hanuman temple, nupur's statement creates ruckus in Ranchi

Ranchi: The controversy over the controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad does not seem to have abated. After the Juma prayers on Friday, there was a lot of protests against Nupur Sharma in many cities of the country. Due to this, the police also had to work hard to control the crowd.  

From Delhi's Jama Masjid to Kolkata and several cities in Uttar Pradesh, there were protests against Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. In Prayagraj, protesters resorted to stone pelting. In Howrah also, the protesters pelted stones at the police. Thereafter, the police had to release tear gas shells.  

Angry over the statement of nupur sharma, people of the muslim community staged a violent protest on ranchi's main road on friday. Police had to resort to aerial firing to disperse the crowd. When the police resorted to lathicharge, stones were fired from the mob. Several police personnel were injured in the stone pelting. Thereafter, the police resorted to aerial firing to clear the crowd. It was only after that that control over the crowd could be found. Earlier, people of Muslim faith had taken to the streets of the capital to protest against Nupur Sharma's statement. They kept their shops closed and started asking other shopkeepers to close the shops. In doranda area also, they closed the shops.  A violent mob pelted stones here, in which several policemen, including SSP SK Jha, were injured. The mob ransacked several vehicles. Stones were pelted at the Mahavir temple. People hid in the temple to save their lives. The mob smashed the glass of MLA Amit Yadav's car.
