Muzaffarpur shelter home case: FIR registered against former Bihar Minister Manju Verma and her husband under Arms Act

New Delhi: In the sensational Muzaffarpur Shelter Home case, today FIR registered against former Bihar Minister Manju Verma and her husband under Arms Act. CBI had conducted a raid at 12 locations including her Patna residence on 17 August and had seized 50 cartridges.

CBI has questioned former Bihar social welfare minister Damodar Rawat who was connected to Brajesh Thakur (the prime accused in the case).

Reports suggested that Rawat was fired questions by the CBI officials for over five hours at an isolated location in Jamui district of Bihar.

Echoing the same sentiments Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav on Monday questioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as to what relation the Janata Dal United (JDU) has with the key accused Brajesh Thakur.Earlier the pics of Thakur along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had rounded on all the social media platforms.

The RJD leader wrote on his twitter handle, “Nitish Ji, When you are expelling your cabinet colleague for 10 years and Vice-President of JDU in connection with Brajesh Thakur? If his son has been suspended then why he is spared? What relation ur party JDU shares main culprit of #MuzaffarpurShelterHome ? Where is morality? (sic).”

Manju Verma had resigned as the social welfare minister owing to alleged links of her husband with the prime accused Brajesh Thakur in the case. Her husband was accused of making regular visits to the shelter home in Muzaffarpur.

The alleged sex outrage in Muzaffarpur surfaced in a social audit held by Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences where More than 40 girls had been found who lodged at the shelter home and medical reports suggested that over half of them may have had sexual intercourse at some point of time.
