An strange event occurred at Kolkata, people started clicking pictures soon and shared them on the social media. People of Kolkata reported of witnessing a rainbow halo ring around the sun around 12 in the noon.

When rays coming from both the Sun and the Moon get refracted through the hexagonal ice crystals present in the cirrus clouds and at that time an event occurs with refraction of light leads to formation of colorful ring.

According to experts, a blue and red ring named ’22 degree circular halo’ was spotted around the Sun between 12.10pm and 12.40pm.

Last 22-degree halo was observed two years back in April 2013.
