There are many types of temples in India, in the same way many types of forts are seen here. Because there are more than 500 forts here, which are located in different parts of the country. Many of these forts are even hundreds of years old, which no one would have known about their construction. Many forts present here are also considered mysterious due to some reason. Today we are going to tell you about one such fort, about which you will be surprised to know. It is said that the whole of Pakistan is visible from there, but the eighth gate of this fort is considered very mysterious. This fort is known as Mehrangarh Fort or Mehrangarh Fort. Located right in the middle of Jodhpur city of Rajasthan, this fort is built at an altitude of about 125 meters. The foundation of this fort was laid by Rao Jodha in the 15th century, but its construction was completed by Maharaj Jaswant Singh.

Actually, this fort is one of the oldest and largest forts in India, which is considered a symbol of India's rich past. With eight gates and countless bastions, this fort is surrounded by high walls. Although there are only seven gates (pol) of this fort, but it is said that it also has an eighth gate which is mysterious. Pointed nails were placed at the first gate of the fort to prevent elephant attacks. There are many grand palaces, wonderfully carved doors and lattice windows inside this fort, among which Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are very special. Near the fort is the temple of Chamunda Mata, built by Rao Jodha in 1460 AD. Special poojas are offered here on Navratri.

Let me tell you that the story of the construction of Mehrangarh Fort is such that when Rao Jodha became the 15th ruler of Jodhpur, after a year, he started to feel that the fort of Mandore was not safe for him. Therefore, he thought of building a fort on the hill, one kilometer away from his then fort. That hill was known as 'Bhor Chiditunk', because there were a large number of birds living there. It is believed that Rao Jodha laid the foundation of this fort in 1459.
