Lucknow: Nadeem, the main accused in the poisonous liquor case of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested by the police after an encounter. During this encounter, Nadeem got shot in the leg. A reward of 50 thousand was also placed on him yesterday. According to the information received, Ahraula police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar was patrolling with some soldiers. During this, information was received from the informer that Nadeem, the main accused in the spurious liquor scandal, is going on foot in an attempt to escape. The police laid siege to him near Sukhipur. On seeing the police, he started firing.

He was shot in the leg in retaliatory firing by the police. After that the police caught him. Nadeem has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. He is a resident of Rupaipur village of the area. Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya said that a pistol and cartridges were found from the injured miscreant.
