Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, during a review meeting at his camp office here on Tuesday, addressed education, medicine, health, skill development, water grid, roads, projects, urban development, housing, port, fishing port, YSR Steel. Various issues related to plant, irrigation were discussed. Describing the Nadu-Nedu program as top priority in the field of education, the Chief Minister asked the officers to implement this program effectively.

He directed the officers to start the works of skill development colleges and complete the works of water grid at Pulivendula, Uddanam and Don on priority basis. The government has spent Rs 3,650 crore for the first phase of the Nadu-Nedu scheme in the education sector and it is estimated that around Rs 4,535 crore will be required for the second phase of the Nadu-Nedu program in 12,663 schools. It is estimated that more than Rs 790 crore will be required for the Jagannath Vidya Kanuka Yojana for the year 2021-22. The Jagannath Goru Mudra Yojana is estimated to cost Rs 1,625 crore for 2021-22.

The officials told the Chief Minister that the construction of the roads would be completed by the end of May 2022. The Chief Minister directed the officials to focus and expedite the works related to the expansion of Karakatta road connecting Amaravati region. Reviewing the progress of providing permanent infrastructure in Jagannath colonies, the Chief Minister said that Rs 30,000 crore has been spent on it. He also reviewed the progress in the construction works of Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam and Bhawanpadu Greenfield Ports and directed the officials to expedite the work on the ports as well.
