The number of nagas increases as soon as the rains start. In the month of Shravan in particular, nagas or snakes are often seen around Mahadev temples. Just today, a black snake was seen sitting on the top of a small Shiva temple built under bass tree of Nagaur in Rajasthan. Soon the crowd gathered to see the scene. Someone made the video viral on social media. There are many temples where there is a darshan of Nagdev every Shravan month. Mahadev's association with the Naga is deep.

1- A Mahadev temple built in the premises of Bhavani temple at Habibganj railway station in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, must have a snake once in the month of Shravan. Often sawn is seen here on Monday. A similar incident takes place at a temple built inside Varasivani jail at Balaghat in MP.

2- Recently, a video of Nagdev sitting on the idol of Mahadev spreading fun in a temple went viral. The video was shared by Indian Forest Service officer Sushant Nanda on social media Twitter with his account. However, it was later revealed that the video was not dated July 26, 2021, but is old.

3- Last year, chanting was going on for 2 months to prevent corona infection at Rameshwar Shivalaya at Krishi Upajmandi in Udaipur in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. It was then that a 6 feet long black snake was seen in Shivalaya on Monday which first wrapped itself around Nandi and later wrapped it self-contained with shiva linga. At that time, the puja chanting continued, and soon a crowd of people gathered.

4- Vasuki was an ardent devotee of Mahadev. It is said that it was the Nagas who first started worshipping the Shivlinga. It was only after being pleased with Vasuki's devotion that Mahadev included him in his ganas. Vasuki is considered to be the king of Naglok. Shivaji has a snake called Vasuki wrapped around his neck who is the brother of Mansadevi and Manasadevi is the manas daughter of Mahadev.

At the time of churning the sea, the Vasuki Nag was wrapped around Mount Meru as a rope and churned, leaving his entire body bleeding. It was raining heavily on the way when Vasudev was quietly taking Lord Krishna from Kansa jail to Gokul. It was Vasuki Nag who protected Shri Krishna from the same rain and the rise of the Yamuna. According to the report received, it was Vasuki who blessed Kunti's son Bhima with the strength of 10,000 elephants. Vasuki had a serpent on his head.
