Actress Nandita Das, who has worked in Marathi films, has recently appealed to all to raise their voice against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC. Recently she said, "Now Shaheen Bagh is being built everywhere because so many people are on the road now. Every citizen, as a human being, we should all speak out against it". Actually, she had gone to a function in Jaipur and she spoke about it there. While talking there, she said, "The values of this country, which are the foundation, should be preserved." This is happening for the first time when identity is being sought from people in the name of religion. This is being opposed. Students have started this. Everyone should raise their voice against this.

At the same time, she also said, "Differences are a different thing, but everyone has the right to speak." You are being sought to be an Indian and Shaheen Bagh is being made everywhere like Delhi.  I am happy that all kinds of people including students, celebrities, journalists and writers are giving their opinions. For the first time, people from the film community are joining it. People are coming forward as humans. The mainstream people as well as cinema people have spoken out against the dangerous relationship between CAA and NRC. Nandita is an actress in many languages like Bengali, Malayalam, Bollywood, Tamil.

This is not the time to give a message but to think about what kind of society we want. If he were Manto today, he would have been sad too. In the year 2018, she was also in the discussion with his directorial film Manto and the film was based on writer Saadat Hasan Manto.
