Amidst the protests across the country against CAA-NRC, many Bollywood stars have also filed their Protest. Stars like Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhaskar, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Farhan Akhtar have opposed this law from social media to the road. Actress Deepika had also done a silent protest by reaching the JNU with the left ideology students of JNU. There was a lot of ruckus on her too. Now legend actor Naseeruddin Shah has also given his opinion in this matter. Shah is not particularly active on social media but he keeps posting his pictures on Instagram.

In a recent interview given to a website, Nasiruddin Shah said on CAA-NRC that 'If I cannot prove that despite being 70 years in India, I am a citizen of this country, then I do not know whom it will prove to be. Talking about the current era, I want to say that I am not afraid of anyone, nor am I restless but I am very angry.' Significantly, some members of Naseeruddin Shah's family have already served in the Army and Indian administration. He said, 'I am not on Twitter. These people who are on Twitter, I hope that they have made up their minds about what they believe in. Anupam Kher has been very vocal in this matter. But I don't think he needs to be taken seriously. He is a joker, many of his contemporaries of the era of NSD, NXTII can tell about his psychopath nature, it is in his blood. But the rest of the people who are supporting him should decide who they are supporting. They do not have to tell us our responsibilities, we know what our responsibilities are.'

Talking about Bollywood, he said, Young directors and actors in the film industry have also stood against this law. However, the silence of industry superstars does not surprise me in any way. They feel they have a lot to lose. But if seen, Deepika also had a lot to lose but despite this, she took the risk and stood in support against the violence with students. He further targeted PM Modi and said that he has never been a student himself, which is why PM Modi is adopting a very insensitive attitude towards students and intellectuals.
