Mumbai: A relief news has emerged from Nashik, Maharashtra. A farmer from Nashik has saved the life of a 5-year-old child from Kochi in Kerala. Both have a blood group P null phenotype, which is extremely rare. It was also told that the 5-year-old child was admitted to the hospital after being an accident. After this, he needed blood at the time of surgery.
Kochi's doctor said that he had found four blood samples of the blood group of the child, but not all of them were successful in its technical parameters. After this, the doctors contacted the NIIH of Mumbai. Dr. Swati Kulkarni of NIIH then contacted Arpan Blood Bank in the city itself. After this, a possible donor, who lives in Yevla, came to know about it. It was also told that during a test recently, Donor was found out about the Rare Blood Group, which was registered and kept by NIIH. A doctor from Arpan said that he had received information from the NIIH on July 17 that a donor with a rare blood group in Yeola was needed. Then the blood bank team met the blood donor farmer and consulted him. After this, blood samples were sent to Kochi.
The doctor further told about this that when the blood samples of the patient and the donor were matched, then after taking the blood of the farmer, he was sent to Kochi via air parcel. On 26 July, the hospital of Kerala gave the information of the surgery and told that the child is recovering.
