Man informs police about 'fidayeen' wife on way to bomb Delhi airport

NEW DELHI: A man who stirred up a stir at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has been arrested by the Gurugram police for describing his wife as a 'woman fidayeen' going abroad. The arrested person has been identified as 29-year-old Nasiruddin. The Gurugram police have arrested the accused Nasiruddin from Bawana area of Delhi. According to a senior Gurugram police official, the accused runs a bag factory in Nasiruddin Chennai.

Police said, a few years ago, Nasiruddin had married with Rafia alias Jabina, a young woman working in his factory. The accused said in the interrogation that his wife Rafia wanted to go to the Gulf country in connection with the job. He didn't want his wife to leave him alone and go abroad. The accused, Naseeruddin, was unable to convince his wife not to go abroad. Eventually, the day came when Rafia had to depart for the Gulf country. On August 8, Rafia left home for delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Meanwhile, the accused Nasiruddin made a phone call to the call centre of The Delhi airport operator 'Dial'.

The call made at the dial call centre was called by Nasiruddin who said that Rafia alias Zamna was a 'female fidayeen'. She is about to explode on a flight to Dubai or Saudi Arabia. The call was followed by a stir at the airport. In view of the seriousness of the case , an investigation was immediately launched to stop the flight to Dubai and Saudi Arabia , but no suspicious object was found near Rafia , after which the airport police registered a case against the fake caller Nasiruddin and arrested him .
