This time the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, has been invited as the chief guest of the Republic Day celebrations. He is scheduled to visit India on Friday to join this gathering. PM Modi invited him to attend this special event during the BRICS conference in Brazil in November last year. Brazil is the strongest economy in South American countries. This is the third time that the President of Brazil is joining the ceremony as the main guest of the Republic Day. Earlier in 1996, President Fernando Heinrich Cardosaur and in 2004 President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva has also graced the ceremony by being the Chief Guest on Republic Day.
