According to officials in this case, till October this year, there were 171 attempts of infiltration from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir. There were 143 infiltration attempts in 2018, 136 in 2017 and 119 in 2016. So far in 2019, 544 incidents of stone-pelting have occurred and out of them, 190 incidents are after 5 August. Till December 8, 356 people of Jammu and Kashmir were in jail, out of which 250 are stone pelters. In 2018, there were 802 incidents of stone pelting.
