There is a ruckus in Kerala politics over the citizenship law. On this matter, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the census will be conducted in the state but he will not help in collecting data for the National Population Register (NPR). He said that he would neither allow the CAA to be implemented in the state nor the NPR. He further said that detention centers will not be built.

There are frequent protests all over the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act, NPR, and NRC. The biggest center of this demonstration is the Shaheen Bagh area of Delhi. This law has been opposing here for the last 2 months. The road is closed due to protest demonstrations on roads. People coming and going from this have to face difficulties.

The second and more recent NRC was held in Assam. Of the three and a half crore people there, 19 lakh could not prove their citizenship. Except for the people of Muslim religion there, the rest can get the benefit of CAA and they can prove their citizenship. In previous areas of India, it will take an even more dangerous form. It will be difficult for those Muslims who are really citizens of India.
