Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, a member of the Congress in the Lok Sabha on the National Register of Citizens (NRC), made a big attack on the BJP-led central government. She alleged that she is trying to divide the society on communal basis. On Thursday, the Congress member opposed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's claim that the BJP wants to update the NRC without monitoring the Supreme Court. He said that there is no clarity about NRC in the government.

According to the media report, in Assam also, the Congress alleged that the government wants to remove a section of the religiously minority community through the NRC. While wants to keep the illegally living linguistic minority group in the country.

For your information, let us tell you that the original petitioner Assam Public Works (APW) in the NRC case has welcomed Amit Shah's announcement. Shah said that the NRC will be updated again in Assam only during the NRC update across the country. Meanwhile, CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury accused the BJP of creating an atmosphere of fear and repression in the country through the NRC process. He also accused the BJP of linking NRC with the Citizenship Amendment Bill. He said that the pair of PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah is again working to scare people.
