The country's veteran leader and India's former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj vacated her 8th government residence at Safdarjung Lane on Saturday, June 29, 2019. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj announced this from her official Twitter handle. Sushma Swaraj tweeted, "I am leaving my official residence 8 Safdarjung Lane in New Delhi. I also want to tell you that I am no longer available at an address or phone number.'

According to a media report, Sushma Swaraj is likely to take over as Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Sushma Swaraj, however, flatly denied those reports. Union Minister Harsh Vardhan also congratulated her in a tweet. Sushma Swaraj then tweeted, "I don't have the truth in the news of being the Governor of Andhra Pradesh." Sushma Swaraj did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Sushma Swaraj took the decision for health reasons. She decided to stay out of the government this year due to her health. After PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony last month, Sushma also wrote an emotional message on Twitter. In which she thanked PM Modi.
