New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has uncovered Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Al-Qaeda Module in Murshidabad, West Bengal and Ernakulam, Kerala. Some of the operatives of Al Qaeda have been arrested after the raid. A United Nations report on terrorism alerted that there could be a 'considerable number' of ISIS terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka and also pointed out that al-Qaida terrorist organizations in the Indian subcontinent are conspiring to attack. 

It is said that there are 150 to 200 terrorists from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar in this organization. The 26th report of the Analytical Assistance and Sanctions Monitoring Team related to ISIS, al-Qaeda and allied individuals and institutions said that Al-Qaeda (AQIS) in the Indian subcontinent operates activities from the Nimruz, Helmand and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan under the Taliban.

According to reports, there are between 150 and 200 terrorists from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Pakistan in the organization. The current leader of the AQIS is Osama Mahmud after Asim Umar's death. There are reports that AQIS is conspiring to retaliate in the area to avenge the death of his former mentor.
