NIA gets successful, arrests another accused of al-Qaida's Murshidabad module

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major breakthrough. NIA arrested suspected Al-Qaida terrorist Samim Ansari on Saturday from the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. According to officials, the terrorist was teamed up with the ' Special Task Force ' of the State police. Shamim Ansari, the Nandpara Kaliganj resident of the Jalangi police station in Murshidabad, was produced in the court immediately after the arrest from where he has been taken on transit remand by NIA. Shamim Ansari will now be produced in a special NIA court in Delhi, after which he can be interrogated.

The National Investigation Agency had arrested 9 suspected terrorists from Ernakulam in Kerala and Murshidabad district of West Bengal on September 19. All these terrorists were reportedly working in India for the international terrorist organization Al-Qaida. Shamim Ansari, the 10th terrorist caught on Saturday, is also a terrorist of Al-Qaida module. All these terrorists were planning a bomb blasts at different places in Delhi.

According to officials associated with the National Investigation Agency, a large number of weapons, explosives, jihadi literature and a number of items have been recovered from the apprehended terrorists. These people were planning attacks on different states and their cities in the country including Delhi-NCR, Kochi and Mumbai. According to the information so far, the suspected Al-Qaida terrorists were going to target the Israeli cultural and religious centre. The terrorists were in the midst of attacking Israeli people in different parts of India during the Jewish festival between September 18 and October 11.
