Karnataka govt to release more funds if needed amid heavy rainfall

Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka is going to release more funds as and when required amid continuous rains across the state. CM has instructed to take proper precautions to handle the situation. 

The CM has instructed the district in-charge ministers not to leave the constituency MLAs and officers in the constituency as well as to visit the affected areas. They have been instructed to take other measures including relief distribution at the place. He said, 'Fifty crore rupees have been released by the state government for the flood-affected people and if the need is felt more money will be released.

For your information, let us tell you that on Wednesday, Yeddyurappa asked the Man Secretary of the state to take necessary steps in view of the increasing rains in the state and directed to release fifty crore rupees for emergency situations. Heavy monsoon rains in Karnataka have led to landslides near Mudgere in Chikmagalur district, while isolated heavyweights in Kodagu district have suffered waterlogging and flood-like conditions. The Central Water Commission on Thursday has reported crossing the river Cauvery danger level at Kudige in Kodagu district of Karnataka. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that due to heavy rains in the state for the last 2-3 days, a red alert has been issued in many districts of Karnataka.
