PM Narendra Modi on Sunday mentioned the 105-year-old Bhagirathi Amma in the 62nd edition of his program Mann Ki Baat. Bhagirathi Amma, a 105-year-old woman from Kollam in Kerala, passed the fourth standard examination with 74.5 percent marks. The examination, conducted in November last year, became the youngest learner of the Kerala State Literacy Mission.

For your information, let us tell you that referring to Bhagirathi Amma in the Mann Ki Baat program, PM Modi said that if we want to progress in life, want to develop and pass some tax, then the first condition is that Our inner student should never die. He said that our 105-year-old Bhagirathi Amma inspires us. At the age of 10, he had to leave his school. He started studying again at the age of 105. Despite being so old, he took the Level-4 examination and got 75 percent marks.

Let us tell you that in November last year, you had appeared in the examination conducted in Kollam by the State Literacy Campaign. In which he scored 205 out of total 275 marks. A total of 11 thousand 593 students had participated in this examination, out of which 10 thousand 12 students were successful. There were 9456 women among them. Bhagirathi Amma had the responsibility of taking care of her brothers and sisters after the death of her mother. Because of this, the dream of studying had to be left in the middle. When she recovered from all these things, her husband died at the age of 30 and then the responsibility of six children fell on her.
