Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has received several proposals against the Citizenship Amendment Act. A letter has been written to the President of the European Parliament David Maria Sasoli regarding this matter. In this, he has said that it is unfair for one Legislature to decide on another Legislature. This practice can be misused by inherent selfish elements. In the letter, Birla has said that as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, we should respect the sovereign processes of other legislatures.
