Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has given a big statement on reservation at a function in Nagpur on Monday. Addressing the program, he said that when some people fail to get tickets, they use the reservation card.

Gadkari was speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 60th Foundation Day of Mahatma Phule Education Society in Nagpur. He said in his address that reservation is necessary for the development of socially and economically backward people of the Dalit community, but it is difficult to develop them only through reservation. Along with this, he said to emphasize on the development of the community through education, social and economic steps.

Apart from this, Gadkari asked whether Indira Gandhi came to power on the basis of caste. He also told that Ashok Gehlot also comes from backward class and he became the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, people of other caste also helped him. During this time he also gave the example of George Fernandes and said that he was not from any caste, he was a Christian, but he was loved by people of every community.
