Ranchi: Despite breaking the national record, Tejinder Singh missed to qualify for Tokyo Olympics in  Ranchi National Open National. Tejinder broke the national record in the shot put. He broke his own record by throwing 20.92 meters away in the men's shot put competition. Toor achieved this feat by overcoming difficult situations. He had fired 20.43 meters away during the World Championship in Doha last month. This was his best performance this season but also overtook it in Ranchi.

But he fell behind the Olympic qualifying mark. A target of 21.10 meters was set for qualifying for the Olympics. Currently, Tur is ranked 34th among all the world's throwing players. Tejinder Toor set a national record at the Asian Games last year by throwing the ball 20.75 meters away. This was his best performance ever.

During the championship in Ranchi, there was a delay of half an hour due to heavy rains. Toor threw his first throw 20.41 meters away, which was only 2 centimetres lower than his best performance this season. After this, he threw 20.29 meters. But in the last attempt, Tur threw the furthest ever. As soon as he came to know that this is a new national record, he raised both hands in the air as a celebration.
