A Public Interest Litigation for MNREGA workers was filed on Saturday in the Supreme Court of India. In this, the Center and the officials have been directed to give full wages to the MNREGA laborers for the entire period of nationwide lockdown.

To prevent Corona infection with immediate effect, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented a lockdown order from March 25 to 21 days which will end on April 14. Nikhil Dey and Aruna Rai of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan have filed this PIL.

It states that over 7 crore laborers are registered under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
